The term ‘Public House’ appeared towards the end of the 17th century. Before then, alehouses were usually only for private members, whereas inns and taverns were open to everyone. A new type of establishment appeared that was open to all but did not include accommodation. To distinguish them from alehouses, these new establishments were labeled ‘public houses. Shortened to the word ‘pub’, the name stuck and eventually became the generic name for all alehouses, taverns, and inns in the country.​

Belfast Brewing Company is a true hybrid food establishment scheduled to open in March 2027 in Savannah, Georgia.  As dawn breaks, an Espresso Bar offers great espresso drinks complemented by fresh breakfast pastries. As the day evolves, Belfast Brewing Company morphs in to a "Fast Casual" lunch spot then an Irish Pub by night serving amazing food and 8 - 12 unique hand-crafted beers. Now, imagine all of this surrounded by an Irish Craft Brewery capable of producing 150,000 barrels of beer annualy...

An Update: The Belfast Brewing Company concept has been on the drawing board since 2024. Our concept has grown exponentially since then! The idea behind Belfast Brewing Company started as a hybrid Espresso bar, Irish Pub and Microbrewery. Since then, we have added a tea house component branded as the "Great Southern Tea Company", expanded our coffee brand under "Bad Dog Coffee", and added a coffee candle company branded as "The Coffee Candle Company". We have opened a retail test store test located at the Keller Flea Market, Savannah, GA under the name "The General Store at Kellers" and will open a second test location July 1st at the Friendly Market, in Savannah. Both locations will. All of our brands sell at both of our test stores and as individual online brands.
